Iguana Care | Pet Health Insurance for my Iguana

Pet Health Insurance for my Iguana

I’ve never been a big fan of pet insurance companies always believing they’re promoting doom and gloom in order to convince you life is terrible and bad things are going to happen including to your beloved pet. I’ve seen the pet insurance adverts on television. A little dog gets run over, a cat gets leukimia and I throw a glance at zumo my iguana and think… what if something happens to him? Maybe I should get insurance.

About two weeks ago zumo started leaving his food. He just wasn’t interested in it. He just lurked around in his cage and sulked. I knew something was wrong. After a couple of days he hadn’t improved so I took him to the vet to be examined. It turns out he had a throat infection. Iguanas can get throat infections? I suppose they have throats so why not. Anway, I was charged nearly $60 for some antibiotic drops that would help him. Now I don’t mind paying whatever it takes to make sure my zumo stays healthy, but if he starts getting throat infections a lot I could be broke before long.  Now I was definitely thinking about pet insurance.

I did some looking around on the internet (as you do) and found a very informative web page that goes into a lot of detail about pet health insurance and I recommend you give it a read. Your pet’s health is important but so is your bank balance. Have a read and think about it. You want to be able to care for your iguana all the time, not just when you can afford it and pet insurance can help.
